We spent the day with SOLE at Baldfoot disc course near Sandpoint. Group One cleared several areas of debris for a burn pile. Group Two rehabbed a trail, tearing up roots, etc. Group Three built up a bridge to help with run off. Great day with no rain!!! Yahoo.
Friends of Scotchman Peak sent a trail coordinator, Mr. Sandy Compton, to lead us on a trail decommissioning project. Students and Teachers hiked up to the trail that was to be decommissioned tools in hand. The "old trail" was scored to allow new vegetation to take hold and many logs, branches, etc were placed over the trail to stop future hikers from using it. We all got muddy, sweaty, and happy! Nothing like working hard and enjoying one of the most beautiful places in our own backyard.
