Ross Cedar Grove

On 9/23 We met up with SOLE at Ross Creek.  We learned about the 6 steps in the Leave No Trace philosophy.  After our discussion we put our new knowledge to the test while hiking deeper in the cedars.
Great day, no rain!!!

Scotchman Peak

Friends of Scotchman Peak sent a trail coordinator, Mr. Sandy Compton, to lead us on a trail decommissioning project. Students and Teachers hiked up to the trail that was to be decommissioned tools in hand. The "old trail" was scored to allow new vegetation to take hold and many logs, branches, etc were placed over the trail to stop future hikers from using it. We all got muddy, sweaty, and happy!  Nothing like working hard and enjoying one of the most beautiful places in our own backyard.
